Jen Alvares
Jen Alvares has been in the field of clinical genetics for over ten years having worked on the bench at ACL Laboratories and University of Chicago Medical Center. In the last seven years she has worked on the commercial side of science where she utilizes her clinical knowledge and hands on laboratory experience to educate scientists from around the globe on the latest genomic technologies that will aid them in the expansion of clinical insights and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
Jen recently completed her Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Health Care Management from Loyola University Chicago. She holds a post baccalaureate degree from University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio in Cytogenetics and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Millikin University.
Jen lives with her husband and two children in the Chicago neighborhood of Bridgeport where they enjoy exploring all that the city has to offer: amazing parks, playgrounds, world renowned museums and amazing cuisine from all around the world. She is a Deacon at her neighborhood church, Park Community Church, and loves reading about the intersection of science and faith. She also appreciates a nice cup of hot coffee every morning from one of her favorite local cafes.
