C2ST achieves its mission by hosting relevant, independent, and credible public STEM programs across all scientific fields at locations throughout Chicagoland. With nine out of ten program attendees’ expectations fulfilled, our supporters agree that C2ST is accomplishing its mission of increasing the public’s understanding of science and technology.

As a guest of Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST), you agree to be photographed, videotaped, or filmed and grant C2ST permission to put the finished footage/photography to any uses that it may deem proper including marketing, advertising (print, radio, and television) and PR-related activities.

Technology and Engineering
This February 22, C2ST is thrilled to participate in the Chicago Architecture Center’s Engineering Fest! This fun event gives kids ages 8-12 an opportunity to explore the STEM fields of architecture, engineering, and design through hands-on activities with professionals in the field. Our table will feature a circuit-building activity with an urban planning twist.

Health and WellnessScience and Society
Communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking are important skills to develop for 21st-century careers. At Hernandez Middle School (HMS), all students work on developing these skills throughout their classes. At the STEM event, participants will engage in activities related to one of the 5C’s that shows connections between STEM, the Arts, and their daily lives. Possible sessions include: a microscope station and an exhibition of Student Science Projects.

Join AWIS, the Chicago Council on Science and Technology, Chientist, ChiTownBio, and the Illinois Science Council for an evening of networking, socializing, and science.
Featuring a talk by Marilene Pavan about using biology to remove fossil fuels from manufacturing and create a more circular economy. Doors at Half Sour will open at 6:00 with the talk kicking off at 6:30. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Registration is not required but is appreciated.

Griffin Museum of Science and Industry

C2St will be at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry’s Annual Tree Lighting Festival on Saturday, November 16th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be hands-on science activities, cultural performances, and more. We will be exploring the power of air pressure with some vacuum chamber marshmallow snowmen!
