Meet Niharika Hanglem

Niharika Hanglem is an accomplished professional passionate about driving innovation and achieving impactful results. With extensive experience in the social innovation sector, Niharika excels in leading and shaping transformative initiatives. Currently serving as the program director at Illinois Tech’s Kaplan Institute, she is at the forefront of revolutionizing tech innovation and entrepreneurship while maintaining a strong focus on equity.

In addition to her role at Kaplan Institute, Niharika serves as a board director for Delta Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing complex environmental challenges and fostering resilient communities in the Midwest. Her commitment to sustainability and social responsibility is evident in her work, where she combines her strategic vision with a deep understanding of market dynamics to drive positive change.

Niharika’s expertise in innovative business models and entrepreneurship is the product of over 15 years of dedicated work in the industry. She has earned a reputation for outstanding contributions to startups, social enterprises, and the private sector. Among her notable achievements, Niharika led the design and launch of Illinois Tech’s highly successful venture immersion program. She also conducted comprehensive ecosystem diagnostics to uncover opportunities in the social enterprise sectors of Asia and Africa. Having previously worked as a Social Innovation consultant for the World Bank, Niharika has been involved in diverse social entrepreneurship and data innovation projects. Her drive to create significant social impact using market-based solutions has been recognized through her selection as a StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellow.
