Join the Chicago Film Festival and Matt Wolf, director of Spaceship Earth, for a virtual Q&A!


We are excited to welcome the director of NEON’s new release Spaceship Earth for a virtual Q&A in celebration of the film’s release. Stream the film beforehand in our Virtual Cinema then join us for a conversation on our YouTube channel on Thursday, May 14 at 7 pm CT with director Matt Wolf. Come with questions!

Synopsis: Spaceship Earth is the true, stranger-than-fiction, adventure of eight visionaries who in 1991 spent two years quarantined inside of a self-engineered replica of Earth’s ecosystem called BIOSPHERE 2. The experiment was a worldwide phenomenon, chronicling daily existence in the face of life threatening ecological disaster and a growing criticism that it was nothing more than a cult. The bizarre story is both a cautionary tale and a hopeful lesson of how a small group of dreamers can potentially reimagine a new world.

Matt Wolf

Matt Wolf is a filmmaker in New York. His critically acclaimed and award-winning films have played widely in festivals and have been distributed internationally in theaters and on television. Matt’s feature documentaries include Wild Combination about the cult cellist and disco producer Arthur Russell, and Teenage about early youth culture and the birth of teenagers. His recent film Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project is about the activist Marion Stokes, who secretly recorded television 24 hours a day for 30 years.
