Certified meteorologist Tammie is one of only a handful of women in the nation that holds both the prestigious AMS/CBM Certified Broadcast Meteorology Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the NWA Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.
She has been honored with five Emmy Awards, including: Best Weathercast, Best Weather and Science Report and for Special Live Reporting.

Edward “Rocky” Kolb
Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics

Rocky is the Arthur Holly Compton Distinguished Service Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics and the College and Chair of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago, as well as a member of the Enrico Fermi Institute, and the Kavli Institute for

This event builds on the successful 2011 Science in the Second City: Sharing Discoveries, Changing the World, during which more than 300 of Chicago’s Business, Philanthropic and Community Leaders came together to support the growth of Science and Technology in our community. The 2012 event will convene everyone again – to share ideas and experiences critical for the 21st century in science and technology as well as to view what impact the organization has made over the past year.

The Evening’s Events include: Highlighting supporters of Science and Technology in the fields of Business, Philanthropy and Individual endeavors. The evening will also consist of a silent auction and seated dinner in addition to Dr. Rocky Kolb bringing his trademark wit and vast knowledge of the cosmos “Discovering Alien Worlds”.
