This event builds on the successful 2011 Science in the Second City: Sharing Discoveries, Changing the World, during which more than 300 of Chicago’s Business, Philanthropic and Community Leaders came together to support the growth of Science and Technology in our community. The 2012 event will convene everyone again – to share ideas and experiences critical for the 21st century in science and technology as well as to view what impact the organization has made over the past year.
This year’s program will include: Highlighting supporters of Science and Technology in the fields of Business, Philanthropy and Individual endeavors. The evening will also consist of a scientific presentations in addition to various entertainment, a silent auction and seated dinner.

Edward “Rocky” Kolb
Rocky is the Arthur Holly Compton Distinguished Service Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics and the College and Chair of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago, as well as a member of the Enrico Fermi Institute, and the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics.
