Filed under: Programs - Partner — Sharon @ 12:59 pm

“Moonrise” is an HD film with live symphony orchestra performed to the music of Daphnis and Chloé for the 100th anniversary of this great work of music, and is about man’s fascination with the Moon throughout time. The film is produced by Dr. Jose Francisco Salgado, Puerto-Rican born astronomer and visual artist at the Adler Planetarium, and Executive Director of KV 265 a non-profit organization working with symphony orchestras and arts organizations around the world bringing science into the concert hall as an innovative way to interest students and the general public in science and the arts. “Moonrise” will be presented in collaboration with the Chicago Sinfonietta, and in association with the Adler Planetarium, and the Nasa Lunar Science Institute (NLSI.) There will be a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m. in the Grainger Ballroom, and the performance is at 7:30 p.m.
