The son of ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, Jean-Michel has investigated the world’s oceans for much of his life. An explorer, environmentalist, educator, and film producer, Cousteau has received an Emmy and the Peabody Award, and was further honored with the Environmental Hero Award during the Clinton administration. Jean-Michel founded Ocean Futures Society in 1999, an organization intended to serve as a “Voice for the Ocean”. OFS has tirelessly communicated through all media the critical bond between human and oceanic ecosystems, and the fundamental importance of responsible environmental stewardship.
