John Kessler, MD, Davee Professor of Stem Cell Biology ; Chairman, Department of Neurology; Director, Northwestern University Stem Cell Insitute, Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine

Dr. Samuel Stupp, Professor of Materials Science, Chemistry & Medicine, Northwestern University

Spinal cord injuries can cause permanent paralysis and have crippling effects. Recent developments in nanotechnology and stem cell research have shown that nerve fibers in the spinal cord can regenerate.

Dr. Jack Kessler & Dr. Samuel Stupp  discussed the future of these two fields and how together, they may one day reverse and treat many injuries and diseases.
